We love winter here at Bear Rock Suites! With snowmobile trails right in our backyard and ski slopes within minutes, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the snowy winter months in the Great North Woods. Whether you love to snowshoe, ski, snowboard or ride your snowmobile, we can connect you to all the local resources.
Here are some things you can do here in the winter, all conveniently located for your enjoyment.
Snowmobiling
Check out more than 1000 miles of New Hampshire's 7,000+ mile snowmobile trail system that connects to Vermont, Maine and Canada. The Great North Woods is a snowmobile enthusiasts’ paradise, with trails that are groomed often to pave way for a stellar 13 to 15-week trail season – the longest in the state of NH.
Skiing & Snowboarding
The Balsams Ski Resort is just minutes away, and you can actually see it from our property. Newly opened for the Winter 2023 season, The Balsams is home to the largest and most advanced ski resort on the East Coast. It’s adjacent to the U.S./Canadian 1,000-mile snowmobile “Superhighway,” featuring 11,000 acres of breathtaking yet accessible wilderness year round.
Tubing, Shoeing, Skating, Sledding
Snowtubing resorts abound in the surrounding area, from Bretton Woods to Cranmore. Dixville Notch State Park gives you access to miles of snowshoeing trails, from Mount Sanguinary to Table Rock. Take the kids sledding for the day or take part in a scenic sleigh ride. Plus, there are lots of ice rinks in the area where you can show off your Olympic figure skating skills!
